Fireback Feet
Always have flowers at your fireplace with the artfully designed Bouquet Fireback. Made of solid cast iron, this decorated piece is a tasteful addition to your hearth and home. Using a fireback is the best way to protect your hearth while radiating more heat out into your room. The fire will cast a lovely glow against the intricately carved bouquet, giving you more light and heat. The charming practicality of this piece cannot be beat.
Standing at the back of the fireplace, the fireback protects the firebrick from damage and radiates hear from the fire out into the room. Add your personal touch or romance and history to your fireplace while improving its function and preserving its brickwork.
Fireback Installation: In most cases, there is no "installation" required for a fireback. You simply set the fireback on the floor of the fireplace and then lean it against the back wall of the fireplace. For proper airflow and prevent the fireback from falling forward, set a couple of small bricks between the bottom of the fireback and the back wall. A fireback can be easily anchored to the wall with steel anchors and angle bolts. This is sometimes necessary with larger firebacks for additional security or if the back wall of your fireplace slants forward. If the fireback is to be anchored to the wall, make sure to use spacers between the fireback and wall to allow for expansion and airflow.

Minuteman emphasizes unique, hand-forged, wrought iron, European designs for the hearth and fireplace. Bellows, andirons, firebacks and wood baskets are all part of the selection. Most recently, Minuteman acquired Adams Fireplace Accessories, furthering their selection of high-quality fireplace items.
The fireplace and hearth has always been a focal point in homes. It is where we gather to warm our hands, our feet, our souls. Minuteman International brings the perfect accessories to complement any fireplace, adding to the ambiance of warmth and family.
Fireback Selection - Size: A fireback should be at least large enough to cover the immediate area where your fire is located, then the size becomes a matter of your judgment as to how much of the overall rear wall is occupied by the fireback. Generally the smaller the fireplace the more area the fireback occupies.
In larger, more common size fireplaces, where the rear wall measures 30" to 48" in width, you can allow for approximately 4" to 14" on each side of the fire back. Again, its a matter of personal choice. The only limitation on the height is that the top of the fireback should no extend into the flue opening; this will choke off the draft, or interfere with the normal function of the damper.
Fireback Care: With a little care at the end of the fireplace season you can have your fireback looking good and ready for your first fire next season. Simply clean off your fireback with the assistance of a wire or still bristled brush. After cleaning, simply spray a coat of light oil (3 in 1 S.T.P. CRC or Silicone). After the oil absorbs into the fireback it will burn off whey you light your first fire next season. You may also substitute black stove paint for the oil.
