This 27" Cast Iron Fireplace Grate can turn a small fire into a roaring blaze. The elevated cast iron grille structure with close grating permits air to flow to your blaze providing less maintenance and allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy. The open grate design easily holds longer logs in addition to smaller pieces of fuel such as twigs, starter wood, pinecones and charcoal. I purchased this fireplace grate to replace a "heavy-duty" steel grate which fell apart after one year. This grate has close grill spacing which allows the coals close proximity to logs to keep the fire going. We love our new great. Fits perfect in our large fireplace and is heavy duty and sturdy enough to withstand the roaring fores we love to enjoy. We have 3 fireplaces, so will definitely be getting our replacements here from now on!

Very similar to the one I had, fits the opening perfectly. The previous one lasted 4 years, hope this one lasts longer.
