We have bought 3 of these now. We like the flat and simple design because it doesn't encroach on hearth so you can sit in front of the fire. We have 1 in our full-time home and 2 in our cabin. The simple design makes the fire the focal point, not the screen!

I use this screen for a gas fireplace. It is very good to protect my pets from getting into the fireplace when it is not being used. The screen is almost invisible with the fire going.
