Not only will the gorgeous Pearl Mantels Deauville Wood Fireplace Mantel Surround accentuate your living room decor, but the intricate hand-carving and scrolling detail will make this beautiful piece the focal point of any room. The mantel is made of strong Asian Choi, a tightly grained hardwood similar to American White Oak, and is easy to paint or stain. Minor assembly (bolt legs to the mantel) is required. Hanger board and all hardware is included.
The Deauville measures 48, 52, or 58 inches across the interior, and has plinth base pairs available in the event that you need to increase the mantel height.

I put the mantel together, it is very nice. I have two little scratches on the legs, and little fading on the staining. Other than that, everything is great, I love the piece!

The fireplace and surround are for my living room more as a decoration. It is beautiful, and easy to assemble. The color was lighter than anticipated, I had it stained before shipping. I now need to either have it restained, or repaint the room. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

Company fantastic to deal with however I would recommend professional help re: staining. This wood can be tricky to stain especially for a novice. It tends to streak and does not cover easily. Several coats required and wood tends to stain darker than original color.

We bought the one that came pre-finished in the fruitwood tone. Everything about the mantel was high quality including the finish. If you are interested in a natural-wood finish it would not be worth your time to buy one unfinished and finish it yourself when the factory model is so finely finished. The actual color is a cross between a medium-mahogany and a medium-cherry finish. The only thing that it needed was some extra washers to take up the slack because the assembly bolts were about 1/4" too long. Other than that, it was easy to assemble [...]. Can't ask for more...
