We needed a light mantle to hang on our 70's era fake stone fireplace wall, and it had to be light weight. Since we wanted something that looked big and hefty, we went years before finding this gem. It is built hollow and has an ingenius mounting strip. My only criticism is that there weren't any instructions included. I understand that everyone needs different hardware, so I wasn't disappointed about the fact it wasn't included. Overall, a beautiful piece!

I really love the mantel. I stained it myself and it was very easy. The only problem I had was they forgot to send the hardware. I'll probably buy another one when I redo my fireplace.

We ordered the finished mantel and it was easy to set up and looks great. The distressed finish and color looks as pictures and we are quite pleased with the look. The only reason for giving 4 stars is that it doesn't come with installation hardware (like the description states) and hanging it with the included hanger board produces a very slight forward lean. We mounted it to a brick fireplace which may account for the lean. Overall a great product.

Perfect size & dimensions. Beautiful finish, with just the right amount of "distressing". looks like a solid beam without the weight. Easily mounted and is admired by all who have seen it.
